Families with autistic children will no longer be excluded from capturing the magic of the holiday season. The Positivity Spectrum, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Macedonia, Ohio, is providing autism families with an opportunity to get professional holiday photos done in their homes. Jamie Runevitch, The Positivity Spectrum Board Member and professional creative will bring holiday backdrops, props and her camera to the families’ homes. Experienced with autistic children, Jamie will get to know the children in their home environment, where their supports and safe spaces are. This allows autistic children to warm up faster and be more comfortable with the holiday photo process.
For the price of $75, with additional donations welcome, each family will receive professionally edited photos from the shoot to hang in their homes and use for holiday cards.
The Positivity Spectrum hopes that by offering this service as a fundraiser, families that would otherwise struggle with the sensory overload of dressing their children in holiday wear, commuting to the photographer, and waiting for their family’s turn during traditional photo shoots, we can lessen the stress and make sure every family has an opportunity to capture the magic of the holiday season!
